THE JEAN PROJECT

INTRODUCTION

THE JEAN PROJECT is a compendium of information for caregivers, a How-To Guide, and a body of tips, suggestions, and insights into caregiving an older individual as I did for my Father for 14.5 years, and now my Mother, Jean, so far, for over 8 years.

Fellow Americans:  may it provide an assist as you travel a similar path, as so many of you are, or will.

SAFETY

The four corners of most tissue boxes are very pointed--dangerously so. If your charge, like mine, lies in bed all or most of the day, they'll likely have their most frequently used possessions right next to them, in bed--like their tissue box, where a sharp and pointed corner could injure their eye.

Therefore, using a spoon or even as I do, your hands, carefully depress and flatten each pointed corner of the box, so it's no longer dangerous.

Freak accident averted.
